Menu
RestaurantsYour menu is what the AI is allowed to sell and quote. Categories, items, prices, and modifiers here are exactly what a caller hears, so this page is effectively the script for every ordering call you take. The control you will use most during a service is availability: marking something unavailable stops the AI offering it on the very next call, which is how you handle running out of a dish mid evening without anyone answering the phone differently. Because the AI orders only real items at real prices, keeping this page current is the difference between confident phone orders and awkward corrections at pickup. Menus are per location, so each restaurant quotes its own prices, and changes apply immediately with no publishing step.

What each part of the menu controls
| Element | What it decides on a call |
|---|---|
| Category | How the AI groups things when a caller asks what you have, so a request for "something with chicken" is answered from the right part of your menu. |
| Item name | The words the AI recognises and repeats back. Name items the way customers say them out loud, not the way the kitchen writes them. |
| Price | Exactly what the AI quotes. It never rounds, discounts, or negotiates, so what is here is what the caller is told. |
| Modifier groups | The questions the AI asks, such as size or extras, and how the order is priced once they answer. |
| Availability | Whether the AI offers the item at all. Toggling it off takes effect on the next call, which is what makes it usable mid service. |
Name items the way customers say them
The AI matches what a caller says against your item names, so names that match everyday speech work better than internal kitchen shorthand. If regulars ask for "the big combo" and your menu calls it something else, the AI has to work harder to connect the two.
This is also why price accuracy matters more here than on a printed menu. A printed menu is read by a customer who can see the caveats; a spoken price is taken as a promise, and correcting it at pickup costs you goodwill you did not need to spend.
Questions
- How quickly does a menu change reach the AI?
- Immediately. The next call uses your updated menu, with no publishing or sync step. That is what makes the availability toggle usable in the middle of a service.
- Can each location have a different menu?
- Yes. Menus are per location, so each restaurant keeps its own items, prices, and modifiers. The number the caller dialled decides which menu applies, which means a caller to your second site is quoted that site’s prices without you maintaining anything twice.
- Will the AI upsell from the menu?
- It can mention natural additions if you have configured them, but it is built to stay helpful rather than pushy, and it will not invent items or promotions that are not on your menu.
- What about modifiers like sizes and extras?
- Modifier groups are part of your menu, so the AI can ask the questions a server would, such as size or extras, and price the order correctly from your real configuration.
